Our Area of Coverage

The Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company is a small company situated in the heart of rural Western Maryland. Since 1935, we've provided fire rescue services from the Potomac River to the Pennsylvania line and from the western edge of Hagerstown to Hancock.

We are always equipped and ready to provide coverage for approximately 8,000 of our residents and tens of thousands of motorists who travel on our 20-mile stretch of Interstate I-70 every month.

We are responsible for a portion of the C&O Canal, the Western Maryland Rail Trail, and multiple wildlife management areas. We are capable of water/ice rescues on the Potomac River to high-angle rescues and forest fire suppression on our local mountains.

We have access to Maryland State Police Aviation, which allows us to transport seriously injured patients by helicopter to the nation's best trauma centers within an hour.
